No dates this valentines? No problem!

Hello lovelies!

Valentines is coming up in 2 days and while there are people complaining about being single, I personally find joy in simply celebrating this day for the sake of love.

This year, I gathered up my gals for a fun Galentines date! You've probably heard of this a couple million times as I'm not all that original haha. Basically, Galentines is a date where you spend time with your gals instead of a boyfriend/girlfriend/fiancee. So what can you do during Galentines? Umm everything you're missing out on those overrated ole dates. Pft.

While discussing a few weeks before our Galentines meet-up, we realized how boring things have gotten. When we were younger, back in our elementary days, Valentines didn't make us feel bummed that we didn't get a rose from that special someone. Everyone felt good because we ALL got valentines from our classmates! I still remember the thrill of opening up our personally-crafted "mailboxes" to see what goodies we got! So this year, my gals and I decided we were going to do just that!

Prior to our meeting, we each crafted our own mailboxes - which was extremely fun! You can practically use anything - tissue boxes, shoe boxes, construction paper pouches, etc. The possibilities are seriously endless. Then decorate to your loving! Valentine stickers, HAND-PAINTED HEARTS, markers, and loads of GLITTER!!!

Then, we went to Target, the Dollar Store, and such to buy small gifts for each other! You can find so many cute and inexpensive goodies at these stores. These were some of our gifts for each other below! It ranged from just about everything: random craft supplies (because we're all DIY ninjas), stationery stuffs, pens, handmade artworks, letters, adorable punny pins, candies, to heartfelt cards!

And of course - no date is complete without a fabulous themed breakfast! Each of us were in charge of making a dish and this is honestly perfect if you're planning on hosting your own Galentines this year! Having everyone create an individual meal makes it more fun for your guests to be creative and is even a less hassle for you. ;) (You know I'm all about doing less work hehe.)

Here were our dishes for this year's event.

Following after our breakfast, we opened up our boxes to get our goodies and it was such a fun time.

I know I'm definitely going to be having another Galentines next year! Have a fun Valentines day everyone - whether you're celebrating it with a special someone or a group of special someones.
