Back to (Old) School

Hey everyone!

I haven't been able to carry out any photoshoots for a while now and it's honestly making me sad. (Edit: I just realized that's a lie; I just did one with my friend yesterday... but it doesn't count because it was a spontaneous one haha. Maybe I'll post those up later.) With finals coming up in 2 weeks, I know for sure I won't be able to sit behind the camera and arrange outfit ideas for a while now haha. (That's a bitter laugh by the way.)

Anyway, I really want something to write about so I thought I would just take a trip down memory lane to some of the past shoots.

(Random note: My inner voice is screaming for me to study for finals instead of sitting here blogging right now but... the heart wants what it wants.)

This shoot was done August 2016 (holy! 2 years now? Time flies!).

FASHION

To be honest with you, the only reason this photoshoot even existed was because we had just gotten new Gap jeans from our aunt (we're lame, I know) and we had just recently went on a back-to-school shopping haul with our friend. (I say "haul" but we actually only bought like 2 items haha.) And also because my sister and I have had a tradition of having a photoshoot on July 31 since 2014. As you can tell, we procrastinated and didn't get to it til late August. (Also for anyone who actually cares, spoiler alert: we broke the tradition after that year lol.) Anyway... (sorry I ramble a lot)...

The outfits for this shoot is honestly... as basic as it can possibly get. My ensemble: A white T-shirt with a thick red 'France' plastered on it, paired with (you guessed it) those Gap jeans. Also a pair of black Converse because everyone knows that's the symbol of American teens. Her ensemble: Literally... a white long-sleeved shirt, paired with (you won't believe it!) those Gap jeans! Oh oh - but wait! There's more! A rainbow beaded necklace to add on top of it all! :O

Bonus: Hairstyles - Literally just leave it unbrushed - and apparently, not in a stylish way.

(I'm genuinely sorry for my absolutely sarcastic tone in this whole entry. I think this is just my response to the whole stress load I've got in front of me heh.)

MOOD

Okay. I swear, I'm gonna stop being annoying now.

The mood we wanted to go for in this shoot was kind of a 70s feel with the blue and pinkish tints and hues. Storytime: It was actually kind of unintentional. My sister and I don't know how to drive yet so we have very limited setting options. Because of this, we always have to turn the house upside down to look at every corner and try to turn it into something somewhat ... artistic. (Personally, I find this challenge very fun!) This lil corner that we shot these pictures in is actually just part of the guest room in our house....

________________

I think overall, the significance of this shoot was not the actual fashion scale featured (we could've been waaay more innovative) - but how it opened our eyes to photography editing. When we were shooting this, we honestly had no idea what we were going for. No vision whatsoever. It was just a shoot-some-pictures-and-we'll-see-where-this-takes-us process. Editing the color (the pink and earthly-blue tones) was what transformed the whole mood - and thus, theme. I don't think I ever realized how important coloring was until this day haha!

.... FInish writing ...
