As you can tell from my last blog post, I've been super super super inspired lately by a bunch of diverse and interesting artistic visionaries and I am just so ...obsessed! I've been particularly obsessed with Gucci's campaigns these days (mainly 2015 to present, though I did read up a little bit about Tom Ford's era) - maybe derived from my love of Taehyung and his Gucci-laced aesthetic, maybe from Lana del Rey and Jared Leto's totally awesome Met Gala get-ups, who knows really? But I've been spending my free time (which actually shouldn't even be free in the first place as AP Euro exams are next Friday yikes!!) reading up on a bunch of articles about creative director Alessandro Michele's (2015- ) amazing "Renaissance" for the Gucci empire. (I knew there was something different with the whole 70s-hippie / sci-fi theme going on in their Instagram feed... I was like "Has it always been this direction or have I just chosen to neglect it because of Gucci's mainstream-ness?? [See: I'm the One - Justin Bieber ft. DJ Khaled and Gucci Gang]) Sooo... it's definitely a new thing (if we're thinking 2015 is pretty new.. I do). Okay so, I'm 3 years late to the party but hey- I just began getting updates from BoF now lol. I also spent an hour watching a bunch of cool facts about some fashion powerhouses - in which Gucci was one of them so there's that. Pulled out the 'ole fashion books from Christmas from my bookshelf to read up on some designers ...
Which now leads me to the point about being super giddy and excited to be back behind the camera and styling and playing around with my stock pile of costume jewelry and potential-filled hand-me-downs!! I can't express how much I'm *crushing over the romantic-dreamy-dusky-flora-loose-hair-in-the-breeze-lens-flare kinda vibe (Coach Spring 2016 / Gucci Bloom? sorry my photos don't do that comparison justice but that was the vision). Which was why I opted for a total feature on this super dreamy "prince" tunic my cousin called it.
It seriously is really "princely" - and I totally dig it. I'm living for these loose, flowy sleeves; soft, creamy colors; and intricate detailing encompassing the whole front AND sleeves! (Ever since watching BTS performance visuals [see: Blood Sweat and Tears], I've gained a new love for all things silk, princely, and aristocratic-royally-high-end-society vibed.)
I just thought the tunic looked ahh-mazinggg paired with delicate jewelry (ie. dainty strands of gold chain) and loads of rings and hair clips. (Note: Also obsessed with hair clips these days!!) Ugh. I literally LITERALLY LOVE the feeling of messing around with clothes and jewelry and putting together the whole ensemble. I'm convinced it's one of the best feelings in the world.
Anyways, I realized how the blog post literally just became a journal entry of things I'm obsessed with / vibes I'm tryna get with. Which I'm totally okay with because no one reads these always. :)
